This Cookie Policy explains how Linkify.fit uses cookies and similar browser technologies when you visit or use the Linkify.fit website, public profile pages, preview features, creation forms and related services.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with the Linkify Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

1. Important information about the current release

The current Linkify.fit release uses only the technologies necessary to operate the website, remember your preferences, transfer preview information and maintain limited internal service analytics.

At this time, Linkify.fit does not use:

• advertising cookies;
• retargeting pixels;
• social-media advertising pixels;
• optional marketing trackers;
• Google Analytics;
• Meta Pixel;
• third-party advertising networks;
• cross-site advertising identifiers;
• browser fingerprinting;
• optional analytics cookies.

The cookie preference interface includes analytics and marketing categories so that preferences can be managed clearly and so the system can support future changes. However, these optional categories currently do not activate any optional tracking provider.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website may store in your browser or on your device.

They may be used to:

• maintain a secure session;
• remember a preference;
• support a requested feature;
• protect a form or administrative function;
• understand limited aggregate service usage.

Linkify.fit may also use technologies that are not technically cookies, including:

• local storage;
• session storage;
• IndexedDB;
• server-side records;
• self-hosted interface resources.

This policy refers to cookies and similar technologies together where appropriate.

3. Technologies used by Linkify.fit

No optional marketing or advertising technology is currently active.

4. Strictly necessary session cookie

Linkify.fit uses a first-party session cookie named linkify_intake.

This cookie may support:

• maintaining a secure session during a request;
• validating form submissions;
• supporting rate-limiting workflows;
• protecting request forms from unauthorised or repeated submissions;
• supporting authenticated administration;
• maintaining security-related request state.

The cookie contains a session identifier rather than your submitted profile information. Your name, biography, links, contact details and selected photo are not stored inside this cookie.

A session is used for request submission and authenticated administration. It is not required for ordinary public profile page views.

The cookie normally expires when the browser session ends. Some browsers may restore session tabs after being reopened, so the practical lifetime may depend on your browser settings.

Because this cookie supports essential security and service functions, blocking it may prevent some features from working correctly.

5. Cookie preference storage

When you select an option in the Linkify cookie banner or preference centre, Linkify stores a small preference record in your browser’s local storage and in a first-party cookie shared across linkify.fit and its subdomains.

This record may include:

• your selected preference;
• the consent-version number;
• the date and time of your choice.

This information is used only to remember your preference and avoid showing the same notice repeatedly.

It is not used to:

• identify you;
• create an advertising profile;
• monitor your browsing behaviour;
• measure your activity across websites;
• personalise advertising.

The preference record is not an analytics cookie. It exists so that Linkify can respect your choice.

6. Preview and creation-page browser storage

If you explicitly continue from the homepage preview to the creation form, Linkify may temporarily use browser storage to transfer the information entered into the preview.

This may include:

• your name;
• username;
• biography;
• social links;
• contact details;
• other information entered into the preview.

If you select a profile photo, the photo may be stored temporarily in IndexedDB so it can be transferred to the receiving creation page.

This preview handoff is local to your browser.

Information entered into the preview is not submitted to Linkify’s server simply because you entered it or clicked to continue. It is submitted only when you send the actual request through the creation form.

Session-storage fields are normally cleared when the tab closes or when the handoff is completed.

If you abandon the transfer, the selected photo may remain in site storage until:

• the next successful handoff;
• removal by the application;
• deletion through your browser;
• clearing Linkify site data.

This temporary preview storage is not used for tracking and is not shared with advertising or analytics providers.

7. Cookie banner and preference centre

When you first visit Linkify.fit, you may see a cookie preference banner explaining the technologies used by the website.

The banner may provide the following options:

• Accept
• Decline non-essential
• Manage preferences

The Manage preferences option allows you to review the available categories separately.

The preference centre may include:

Strictly necessary

These technologies are required for security, request submission, preference management or other essential website functions.

They are always active and cannot be disabled through the optional cookie controls.

Analytics

The current release does not activate optional browser analytics cookies or analytics scripts.

Linkify does use limited internal server-side aggregate records, as explained in this policy. This system does not require an analytics cookie or a persistent visitor identifier.

Marketing

The current release does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, marketing scripts or cross-site advertising technologies.

Marketing is therefore currently inactive.

8. How the cookie banner works

Linkify is designed to apply the following principles:

• optional technologies are not activated before the required choice is made;
• analytics and marketing categories are disabled by default;
• the user is not considered to have consented merely by browsing, scrolling or closing the banner;
• the options to accept and decline non-essential technologies are clearly available;
• the Manage preferences option allows categories to be reviewed separately;
• strictly necessary technologies are not placed behind optional consent;
• the preference centre does not use pre-selected optional categories;
• the user can change or withdraw a preference later;
• the cookie preference record is saved only to remember the selected choice.

In the current release, no optional analytics or marketing provider is active. This means that accepting or declining optional categories currently does not activate or remove an optional tracking provider.

If Linkify introduces optional technologies in the future, those technologies will be activated only after the relevant choice has been recorded where consent is required.

9. Changing or withdrawing your preference

You can change or withdraw your cookie preference at any time by opening:

The Cookie Settings control should remain available through the website, including through a footer link or another clearly accessible location.

Changing or withdrawing consent is designed to be as easy as giving consent.

When you withdraw consent for an optional category:

• new optional technologies in that category will not be activated;
• optional technologies that are no longer permitted should be disabled or removed where technically possible;
• strictly necessary technologies will continue to operate;
• your withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before the withdrawal.

If you close the cookie banner without selecting an option, Linkify will not treat that action as consent to optional technologies.

10. Future optional technologies

If Linkify later adds optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies, we will update this policy before using them.

The updated information will identify, where applicable:

• the provider;
• the name of the cookie or technology;
• the purpose;
• the information collected;
• the retention period;
• whether the provider is a third party;
• whether information may be transferred outside the European Economic Area;
• the applicable preference category.

A new consent request may be shown when:

• a new provider is introduced;
• a new category is introduced;
• the purpose of a technology changes;
• the consent version changes;
• the previous preference is no longer available or valid under the updated system.

11. Internal server-side analytics

Linkify records limited aggregate usage information on its server.

The current analytics system records:

• profile views by profile and day;
• link clicks by profile and day.

This system does not require an analytics cookie or a persistent visitor identifier.

The analytics layer is not designed to store:

• raw IP addresses as analytics identifiers;
• individual visitor IDs;
• advertising IDs;
• browser fingerprints;
• cross-site tracking profiles;
• individual browsing histories.

The purpose of this information is to understand basic service usage, monitor profile activity and maintain the Linkify service.

The analytics system is separate from ordinary technical server logs.

Like most internet services, hosting, security or infrastructure systems may process technical request information such as:

• IP address;
• browser type;
• device information;
• timestamp;
• requested URL;
• error information.

Such technical information may be required for security, service delivery, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. It is not the same as the internal Linkify analytics dataset and is handled according to the applicable privacy information.

12. Local display fonts

The current Linkify release uses browser-local font stacks and self-hosted resources for interface typography. No third-party font request is required for the homepage or forms.

13. Third-party links

Linkify profile pages may contain links to:

• social networks;
• personal websites;
• email addresses;
• phone numbers;
• online stores;
• booking platforms;
• other external destinations.

When you open an external link:

• you leave the Linkify service;
• the destination website may set its own cookies;
• the destination may collect information about your visit;
• the destination may receive technical information from your browser;
• the destination’s own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Linkify does not control the cookies, tracking technologies or privacy practices of external websites.

14. Browser controls

You can manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

• block all cookies;
• block third-party cookies;
• delete existing cookies;
• clear local storage;
• clear session storage;
• clear IndexedDB;
• clear all site data;
• manage permissions on a site-by-site basis.

If you block or delete strictly necessary storage, some Linkify features may not function correctly.

This may affect:

• request submission;
• secure form handling;
• preview handoff;
• editing workflows;
• authenticated administration;
• cookie preference management.

Clearing browser storage may also remove information temporarily held for the preview-to-creation handoff.

15. Legal basis and consent

Strictly necessary cookies and storage are used because they support functions requested by the user or functions required for security and service operation.

The preference record is used to remember and respect your cookie choice. It is not used for advertising or behavioural tracking.

Where Linkify introduces optional technologies that require consent, those technologies will be activated only after a clear affirmative choice.

Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. You may refuse optional technologies without losing access to ordinary Linkify profile pages.

The legal basis for any personal-data processing that is not specifically described in this Cookie Policy is explained in the Linkify Privacy Policy.

16. Retention

Different technologies have different retention periods:

• linkify_intake: normally until the browser session ends;
• cookie preference record: the first-party cookie expires after one year; preferences may also be changed, deleted or replaced by a new consent version;
• session storage: until the tab closes or the handoff is completed;
• IndexedDB photo: until the handoff is completed, the application removes it or site data is cleared;
• internal analytics: retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, reporting, security and improvement, after which the information is deleted or anonymised;
• technical server logs: retained according to operational, security and legal requirements;
• self-hosted interface resources: delivered by Linkify as part of the website request.

17. Data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights regarding personal data processed in connection with Linkify, including the right to:

• request access to your personal data;
• request correction of inaccurate information;
• request deletion;
• request restriction of processing;
• object to certain processing;
• request data portability;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

18. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when:

• the Linkify service changes;
• new cookies or similar technologies are introduced;
• a third-party provider changes;
• our storage or analytics practices change;
• legal or regulatory requirements change;
• the cookie preference system is updated.

When we make a material change, we will update the effective or last-updated date and, where required, request a new cookie preference.
